Phantasia's Pet Portraits

Whether furred, feathered, finned, hooved, or even scaled, they all have a special way of working their way into our hearts and sharing our lives as friend, companion, and comfort. Would you like to have a portrait painted of your pet? If you select and send me a photograph of your animal friend, I will set to work capturing that likeness and spirit in a painting for you.

*The Pet Portrait Studio is not officially open for business just yet. Price info and prepared order form coming soon! Thank you for your patience!*

How do I go about ordering a commissioned pet portrait?

I work from photographs that you send to me of your pet, and typically the best shots are those that are in color and of clear focus for best results in capturing likeness. You can send the reference photos via regular mail or as email attachments. It's really helpful if you can send the shot that you'd like to see reproduced and an additional one or two that show your pet's spirit and personality in action, as well. Physical likeness is of great importance, but often I find its that spirit or the special something in the eyes and ways of animals that are the key to that exclamation, "that's my dog...cat...horse...bird...(etc)".

What 'look' do I have in mind to best capture my pet?

A decision to make is if you would like a headshot portrait or a full body painting of your pet, as both have their benefits. A headshot would capture 'up close' detail of that furry face, but a full body painting would be more fitting if you have an action shot. If your pets want to 'tag team' their way into a portrait, I can include several in one, and the price would be the same for the size canvas you're ordering, but remember that the more 'sitters', the less 'size' and size-dependent detail is allowed for each individual.

How Do I Order?

I'm still in the process of setting up an order form for your convenience which should be up very soon. If you'd like to order before the form is available, send me an email with your request for a portrait, and we can discuss the details directly via email or correspondence.

Email: believin_in_Faith@hotmail.com

How long does it take for me to receive my portrait from the order date?

Quality is the main factor, as I want to make sure that you get just what you want from your order. In general, I'd ask that a minimum of three weeks should be allowed; if it is a gift or an order that must be put in a rush category, however, please let me know in those circumstances and I would do my best to meet your date of delivery.

What Medium do you work in, and on what surface do you work on?

Primarily, I work using acrylics on stretched canvas or canvas board for portraits. I also create pencil portraits if a black and white composition is preferred on quality Strathmore paper. While those are the primary mediums that I tend to work in and have prices listed for, if you would like to talk about an un-listed medium, please send that note along with your order and we'll talk about it!
